FSNotes is an open-source notes manager for macOS and iOS modeled on nvALT: instant search-or-create, keyboard-driven navigation, and every note stored as a plain markdown file on disk.
Notes live in ordinary folders you control, sync via iCloud Drive, and support GitHub Flavored Markdown with inline images and code highlighting. Because storage is plain text, your notes remain readable by any other tool.
